Visions and Values

Our mission statement on the homepage of this website gives everyone a quick insight into what we think is important at Moat:

Here is our Vision and Values Statement based on your thoughts and those of the staff :

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils for lives as confident, happy global citizens.

We aim to:

  • inspire, motivate and challenge all children to achieve their full potential

  • provide a caring and supportive environment that nurtures children, parents/carers and staff

  • build confident, cooperative, independent life-long learners who have high self-esteem

  • develop citizens who have a strong sense of values that enable them to make sensible choices and demonstrate respect for all others

    In an environment which is:

  • safe, secure and caring

  • fun, exciting and purposeful

  • well resourced and well organised

  • fully inclusive of all

  • constantly seeking to provide opportunities for all in the school community

    We will achieve this by:

  • having high expectations of children, staff and parents/carers

  • using a variety of teaching strategies and exciting learning opportunities that inspire and motivate children

  • having clear but fair rules, rewards and sanctions

  • working in close partnership with parents and carers

  • sharing and celebrating the successes of every member of our school community.

Family Homework Feedback

We  have had some really great feedback so far to our request for help with developing our vision and here are a few examples:

My daughter looks forward to every day and loves learning and loves her class

It is where all your friends come together as one big family, with one goal which is to make sure our children have the best start in their lives

It is a happy fun and friendly school to learn at

My son has loved being at Moat from the age of 3

Moat makes both my children happy, they love their teachers
